Tremendously successful, Safety Town is held in three sessions during the beginning and middle of the summer, teaching young children the benefits of safety in all areas of their life.
Guests include, Police Officers (with the D.A.R.E. car) and Firemen (with Fire Trucks, of course). Originally, supported by funds from other of the projects, Safety Town is entirely self-supporting. The SAFETY TOWN program will again be offered this summer for children enrolled in Kindergarten for the Fall of 2009. SAFETY TOWN is a 20-hour course where children learn safety procedures through involvement in both classroom and outdoor instruction. The specific topics covered are: pedestrians, fires, strangers, pets and animals, traffic signs and signals, poisons, buses, and general play at school and at home. The program is taught by professional teachers. Visits by Fargo Police and Fire Department officers will provide your children with an enjoyable learning experience. Download an application today. |
